Christian Pulisic and AC Milan were shut out by reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, with Xabi Alonso's men besting them 1-0.
The USMNT star created three separate scoring chances, registering one shot on target, but it wasn't enough to get past Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky who made five brilliant saves to blank the Rossoneri.
Milan had 17 total shots on the road, but nothing was working.

With two losses in their first two UCL matches, Milan are now nearing must-win territory on Matchday three against Club Brugge. With MD4 seeing them travel to the Santiago Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid's front four of Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo, they cannot afford anything but three points in their next match.
With that, concerns will grow for Paulo Fonseca. The Portuguese manager, who was appointed in the offseason to replace Stefano Pioli, is winless in Europe and has accumulated just three out of a possible six victories in Serie A this season.

Tuesday marked an end to Pulisic's stupendous scoring streak for club and country. Across all competitions for both, he had scored in five-straight matches heading into Tuesday. In total, the American has five goals and two assists for AC Milan this season.

Pulisic, meanwhile, will look to return to his scoring ways ahead of the October international window, where he'll depart to represent the USMNT in a pair of international friendlies against Mexico and Panama.
