Thus, he can leave as a free agent from June, and given that he is currently rated at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, it could represent a real bargain for whoever is able to land his signature.

The Latest: Tottenham admirers

Given that they would not have to pay a penny in transfer fees, it is surely a no-brainer for the North London club to sign someone with the talent that Kamara has.

Once called a ‘phenomenon’ by former Marseille teammate Rolando, Kamara is equally as comfortable at playing as a central defender as well as in the heart of midfield, versatility that would be music to the ears of Antonio Conte.

Despite being just 22 years of age, he has also second place in the French top flight, only behind PSG.

Nonetheless, signing Kamara up would represent a very smart piece of business.
