Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is on the verge of joining West Bromwich Albion on loan until the end of the season, but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted that they are unlikely to replace him and their fans have been quick to have their say on the development.
The Telegraph reported on Monday that the Baggies had won the race to sign the out of favour on a temporary basis, but Klopp confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the Merseyside outfit are unlikely to make any further January additions.
The Reds have only brought Virgil van Dijk to Anfield this summer and despite losing Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona and now seeing Sturridge go out, it doesn’t look as though any attacking reinforcements will be forthcoming.
Liverpool supporters took to social media to have their say on the latest transfer update, and while one said the decision was “baffling”, another said “it’s 1 step forward and 3 steps back with Klopp”.
