Indeed, defeat against Real Madrid later this month would be made worse if the club fail to secure a top-four position in the Premier League table.
The Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, and the Blues will move level on points with Jurgen Klopp’s side if they beat Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night.
Liverpool are currently in third, but they are far from safe in the top four.
Centre-back Dejan Lovren has been speaking about the club’s chances of ending the campaign in a Champions League position, and his words have not gone down well.
Indeed, the Liverpool fans are seemingly sick and tired of hearing Lovren speak.
The 28-year-old, who is believed to be on £90,000 a week at Anfield, has profited from Joel Matip’s injury to become a feature in the team in recent weeks, but it seems that the Croatian is still struggling to win over the supporters.
