October was somewhat of a mixed month for Arsenal.
The Gunners started off with two wins, against Standard Liege in the Europa League and Bournemouth in the Premier League, even keeping clean sheets in both.
However, they proceeded to win just once in their next four games – the sole victory was versus Vitoria as the pressure cranked up on Unai Emery.
Watch the moment Granit Xhaka’s Arsenal career may have come to an ugly end in the video below…
The situation was not helped at all by Granit Xhaka, the club captain, shouting expletives at the crowd as he was booed off the field against Crystal Palace. However, Gabriel Martinelli’s performances were something the club’s supporters could grasp onto.
The £7.2m-valued 18-year-old scored five goals in the month despite starting just three matches. He bagged two braces as well, one of which came against Liverpool.
Such were his displays, he has been nominated for the club’s Player of the Month award alongside Nicolas Pepe, David Luiz and Matteo Guendouzi. And it seems the former Ituano teenager is a popular choice for the award.
The club’s fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
