Bayern Munich defeated Spurs in the pre-season clash at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, with Kane and former Spurs teammate Eric Dier coming on as second-half substitutes after being presented to the crowd before the game. Kane was also visibly emotional during the match. Despite the 3-2 win, Kane was seen shaking his head to teammates and refusing to lift the Visit Malta trophy as a sign of respect to his former club, having not won any silverware during his time in North London.

Kane is incredibly still yet to win a major trophy during his career despite six cup finals for club and country. The 31-year-old has also finished as a runner up in the Premier League during his time at Spurs, while Bayern lost the German Super Cup and failed to win the Bundesliga or DFB-Pokal during Kane's first season with the club. The prolific forward also suffered a heartbreaking defeat with England at Euro 2024, marking the second successive final in the tournament in which he and his country have come up short.

Kane will be determined to make his first trophy lift a significant one, starting in the DFB-Pokal next week where Bayern face off against second tier side Ulm. The number nine will then begin his second Bundesliga season, on August 25th against Wolfsburg, hoping that Bayern can make up for their first campaign without the title in 12 years.
Tottenham, meanwhile, begin their Premier League season against Leicester on August 19th, with their new striker Dominic Solanke hoping to emulate Kane's goalscoring feats at the club.
